Turks for the Turks (correction)

In my last "Turks for the Turks" post. I think I stand corrected because I was informed that we have indeed voted for a similar resolution twice,,,,I apologize for the incorrect information .....Will be more careful next time, THis however does not negate the damage bringing up this resolution at this time.. Another way to lose the peace in Iraq??? interrupt the supply lines..Great strategy for Americas' enemies...What!!!!!I mean UH!!!!The United States House.....Wake up America.....again!!!!!!!

Good morning from the West Coast, it is a rainy morning here. Thanks for the good posts. The latest move by the Do-Nothing-DEM/GOP Congress is a bad one. We NEED The help of Turkey in our operations in IRAQ. Things for everyone to remember, in the 2008 election we MUST throw all those bumms out [ALL of them, with no exceptions]. Have a fine MAINE day!

Good morning and thank's for stopping by Dragon Lady's Den, Tap.

This nonsense is what happens when we have a Democratic Congress. They are attempting to screw up as much of our progress with this war as possible. It's unconscionable and disgusting. What a time for them to pick to try to do this, and there's no other reason for them doing it at this time than the one I just stated. Unconscionable! This Turkey/Syria thing happened 90 years ago and I believe their condemnation could wait another 10 years (or 100) without it hurting anyone whatsoever. The Democrat's so-called agenda is clear, but it has been for quite some time.

Turkey is a sensitive spot in two ways for us--the move toward a fundmentalist islamic practice (when I was there in 2000, it was quite US friendly and the people were moderate in practice.) and our need for airspace for the Iraq engagement.

Bsides, aren't we building a pipeline that crosses over Turkey from Baku?

Interesting post.
Thanky!

Gale, Thanks for stopping by....I really enjoyed your blog. I wonder when our polititians will get it. That is they are not doing thing unknowingly anymore....We know or we soon find out what the ramifications of these nonsensical power plays that hurt the Nation and its people.

Aunt Belle, I traveled extensively throughout Turkey, while Iran was still friendly with the US. At that time it was told that Turkey was unfriendly toward the US. That might have been true to a certain extent with certain people, but it wasn't as far as me and my family were concerned. We were welcomed no matter where we went from Istanbul to Ankara and around the southern region, Incilik, and Izmire. My youngest daughter learned Turkish before she learned English and we would go to our landlady to interpret what she was saying. Because we lived on the local economy, we spoke broken turkish also so we could shop in the small village where we lived. I'm not sure about the pipeline, but I think you are correct. I would say one thing about Turkey, do not underestimate them. They are fierce fighters, but they insult and embarrass easily. I ramble....stay well

You hit the nail directly on the head my friend ... I just posted "again" on this topic, but seems I may have once again been lagging behind you on the reason why. Good job.

I think I'm going to have to visit Gayle at her blog. She said the same thing as me about it being unconscionable. Good word and very appropos.

We all have to issue corrections at one time or another. I'm always thankful when a reader points out my errors. Seems you found this one yourself.

Pelosi is doing this on purpose, she know what the result will be. The anti-America, anti-war crowd are pushing her.

Debbie,
I like that name....I know they are speaking from the left, but that doesn't make it right. That's all I ask for is a little,"Lets watch out for the troops in harm's way". Thanks for stopping by...stay well....

O.K...O.K...I'm awake, Tapline! It may be too late for me to make a difference but, I'm awake!

Literally speaking...woke up from a sound sleep for an unknown reason and, of course, came to the nerve center and found your comment on my blog.

Just wanted to say thanks for the encouragement. I've read your comments but have never visited your blog...feeling like you're "way out of my political league". (though I've tested the waters of a few and they are very kind)

Am duly impressed by your profile!
Visit me again when you need a break from the stress and frustration of politics.

Good posting, the current congressional discourse over this issue is self-defeating at best, silly distractions from real issues of the day. Thanks and keep up the good work...
