Photo from Ice Storm in New England

This is a picture of the Ice Storm in New Hampshire last thursday night. My son gave me this image and put it up for me. I didn't know how...I'm quite limited when it comes to inputing images....
We lost power early Friday morning around 3:00AM and got it back around 5:00PM. Where this picture was taken, the people just got back their power this afternoon late. Power lines were down throughout the state, as well as the Maine coastline. I was lucky, Although, my basement flooded with about 2 inches of water because my emergency generator broke and I didn't have a spare. By the time I got it fixed, the power was back on. I tried to get a replacement, but most all the stores were closed and by the time I found a store, it was late afternoon and I just ordered a replacement generator to be delivered in the evening. On my return home, I stopped to pick up my repaired generator and brought it back for installation. Shortly thereafter, the power came back on, the phone which had also been out came on and the store called informing me my new generator was in.. I picked it up to be used as a spare in case..Now my son wants the one I had repaired..So goes a day in a life........

It's great to see you back! Soon, all of this will be just something your family will pull out from their memory and when the "remember whens" are over, will be pushed back until a later time. How well I can relate to So goes a day in a life........

God bless your "reason for the season"!

Tap,
Good to see you back. As for the electric thing, we had a major wind storm here that knocked out our power for four days. It's tough to get through especially when you find out how much you depend on power. We got through as I'm sure you will too. Hope all is well and you are in my prayers.

L&O Teach, Thanks for stopping by. I've been here dropping my comments on blogs, but haven't put together anything I can put on paper....stay well...

Glad to hear you weathered the storm...stay warm!

Tapline said...

Robert, Thanks for stopping by....your statement about weathering the storm is in the present tense. Massive Snow storm to continue about 14 inches on the ground so far..........

Well, Tap, it sounds like you had a rather frustrating day. Ice storms are so damaging, but they really are beautiful.

Congratulations on your upcoming 50th anniversary! You were married four days after we were and in the same year! Our church celebrated ours early because many people in the congregation are away visiting family on the 23rd. So a very happy 50th and a Merry Christmas too! :)

Well HELLO Taplinhe. Welcome back. Sorry it took a while for me to find you. Snow just stopped up here too. I got the walkway and 1 car shoveled out and I'm dead! The other 2/3s of the driveway will have to wait. We ended up with close to 30 inches and more expected in a day or two from what I heard. YUCK!! Where is that global warming when you really need it? My guess is it's just as real as Santa, the Easter bunny, and the tooth fairy!

What a pretty pic! On the one hand I wished we had winters like that down here in Texas, but on the other hand I'm like, thank God that's not me! Stay warm, Tap, and thanks for welcoming me back.

We're supposed to get 8 to 10 tonight. Just great. Like all I have to do tomorrow is waste half the day shoveling. Why do I still live in New Hampshire?

Tapline said...

AA, Don't worry about it, remember Global warming....Not to much longer before we will be having no snow here, or very little....They said so......stay well

Gayle said...

Send me some snow, Tap! I haven't seen any in a long, long time. :(

Tapline said...

Gayle, Thanks for stopping by...WE only had about 3 inches...along with the Ice....Roads are clear and the cars are no longer ice covered...Plow has come and cleared the driveway so I'm set to go...Gayle this snow is not transportable. I chose to live with it sooooooo...sometimes its not so good but most of the time within a day were out and going. My wife use to work about 50 miles from here and in 10 years you could have counted on one hand how many times she missed work because of weather....stay well...

Jackie said...

Mr. Tap...I too wish we could have just a 'little' of your moisture. Our area is bone dry. I've had to set up a humidifier to put a little moisture in our house. Also keep a pan of water heating on the kitchen stove for extra moisture. My skin is beginning to tell the story!! No relief in sight yet!

Thanks for stopping by For Love of Home...I always enjoy reading your comments PLUS it's good to know that you're o.k.

Stay well yourself...and keep the faith!

Tapline said...

Inspired, Thanks for stopping again......looks like I have to get it together and post something. I really don't find anything to post except unpleasant news and I don't want to post another doom and gloom.... have to look for a brighter side.....Life was so much easier when I didn't know anything about, nor did I care about politics or party affiliation......stay well.....

WHT, Thanks for stopping by..I must compose a post, but have been so upset over developments of late. I must compose myself before approaching reality....Read Michelle's post about the law passed by Pres Bush I about buying citizenship. According to the post, if you purchase property in the US floored me...I haven't run it for validty, but according to the post she has run numerous articles on this subject before. This is beyond fantasy..Buying citizenship!!!I knew he was a globalist but.....stay well...

on a much lighter note: I will post a comment later on what a "frito pie" is.

Right now, I'm not very inspired. In fact, I'm a whole lot depressed. I've GOT to get myself together again. Hope you do the same. Stay well...

Tap, the last comment you made on my blog had an & in the web address. I changed it for you, but you may want to go to "settings" in blogger and fix it, because it won't work that way.

Angel, All is well, as far as physical health is concerned, but I am having a terrible time trying to grasp what is happening to my country....The answer??!! I received from my Niece yesterday. She advised me God had a plan and I might not be able to understand what is happening, so leave it in his hands, as we all know "God works in mysterious ways'" I guess that is my answer.

Jackie said...

Yes, Mr. Tap! God does work in mysterious ways. I can testify to that. But in my human-ness, I tend to forget.

We've missed you. I check almost everyday for a new post.

It's time for you and me to get it together again. Take care and peace to you...

Jackie said...

Mr. Tap: After I left the previous comment I received this little e-mail about "God's mysterious ways". If you haven't seen it, I thought you might enjoy it.

I never thought I would enjoy watching the news about an airplane crash. But the Lord
works in mysterious ways, and with a sense of humor!

First: No one died!
Second: The passengers standing on the wing appeared to be walking on water!
Third: It removed Obama from the headlines for 24 hours!
Fourth: No one in the government could take credit for the miracle!
Fifth: It wasn't George Bush's fault!

Have a good day...
